Dalkeith

Dalkeith sits at a junction of fast roads and busy town streets. The A68, A6106 and the City Bypass all feed traffic through the area, and Sheriffhall roundabout is the pressure point everyone worries about. Lessons approach it in stages — quieter times first, correct lane and exit planning, then peak-time runs until it's routine.

In the town itself, the High Street, Eskbank Road and the one-way sections around the shops give good practice at low-speed control, mirror discipline and dealing with buses pulling out.

Because most Dalkeith learners test at Musselburgh, later lessons move across to those routes so you know the roads on the day rather than meeting them for the first time with an examiner beside you.
