Haddington

Haddington's town centre teaches precision. Court Street, Market Street and the one-way sections mean constant lane choice, reading signs early and dealing with pedestrians and parked delivery vehicles at low speed.

Outside the town, the roads change character entirely. The routes towards Gifford, Garvald and the Lammermuir foothills are single-track in places, with blind bends, standing water and farm traffic. These are the roads local drivers use every day, so they're a priority in your course rather than an afterthought.

Since the test centre is in Musselburgh, part of your later lessons are spent driving the A1 there and working through the test routes so the journey itself never becomes a source of nerves.
